Introducing Manel

I’m a Spaniard K12 teacher and trainer who works in the CEP Plurilingüe Santa Tegra public school in the Northern Spain. My focus has been always trying the help my pupils to grown their own creativity and critical thinking skills through the use of the most powerful but easiest technology we could afford. That’s why we use ThingLink a lot. I believe that when they do media creation through collaboration is the perfect match for learning in all subjects but in soft skills too.

Manel’s VR ThingLink Project

When you let your imagination fly, you can reach other places and times. That was the goal of this project. Let the children show and explain their creations and the incredible stories that happen there with text and media.

How was the project delivered?

The VR project was made by 11-year-old children. 18 children, 18 different places, imaginary places using AI to create stunning images that let them explore what could happen there. So, they created stories about what they saw in those pictures using their voices, texts, and images.

After that, we created a hall of fame that was the perfect company for another project made thanks to ThingLink: ”my preferred character” where they worked collaboratively in ThingLink to recreate their most loved characters who were shown in AR.

Do you have any other projects in development?

Our next project is to bring back from the past our city streets in the time when our grandparents were suffering under a dictatorship. We intend to show old images, old memories, and old words by our grandparents and work on building critical thinking, empathy, history, and democracy. Everything in 360 spheres in Thinglink VR powerful mode.

What do you love about ThingLink?

Sincerely, everything. The media creation approach, the posibilities to work from the teacher but collaboratively too. The easy way to create VR and AR conent in a powerfull but easy editor.
