Introducing Danielle

I am an Assistant Learning Technologist from the University of Leeds. I have a PhD in 360 degree video as an online learning tool for filmmaking education.

Danielle’s ThingLink Project

This branching scenario allows uses of the AV spaces around the University of Leeds to feel confident in using the spaces. The resource was created as a way to reduce technical call outs and support around the huge campus and self empower staff and student users, reducing lost teaching time and overwhelm in stressful situations.

How was it experienced?

This example is part of the onboarding training for staff and students and is available on the University web pages. It is a fairly new project so impact is still being mesaured but the resource has already been welcomed by staff and student users of these spaces.

What do you love about ThingLink?

I have been studying and working with 360-degree images and video since my masters cource in 2008. I love the navigational style it provides, and how it has moved on from being a gimmick to a useful tool for learning. When I found out the University had ThingLink I was over the moon, and ever since I have used it for a lot of work: guidance, campus tours, 360 tours, interactove images, and content embedded in virtual learning environments.

What else is in the planning?

I have been working with academics to create content for their modules such as module journey maps, musical images and equipment manuals. I have recently been using Copilot and Skybox to create murder mystery and wellbeing escape rooms as examples on how these tools can be used to create whole ThingLink experiences, helping educators to create examples for teaching and learning in a small amount of time and with reduced effort.

Danielle’s Fun Facts!

🎸 I am in four rock bands, 🛼 played roller derby for 14 years, and 🎪 volunteer at Glastonbury and other festivals every year.

Thank You Danielle!
