Introducing Anna Katia

I am a High School English teacher who loves experimenting with innovative teaching methodologies and digital tools, since they have the magic power to spark students’ creativity. My priority is to motivate and engage students in learning. I strongly believe AR and VR are perfect modes to grab students’ attention, to guarantee their active participation and to develop the skills they need.

Anna Katia’s ThingLink Escape Room Project

This escape room is a perfect example of engaging students in reviewing a grammar topic in a game and entertaining context. Santa Claus is in danger!

What inspired you to create this project?

It was Christmas time. I had just finished attending a course about escape rooms and I wanted to provide an example to my students who love gamification but don’t like studying.

How was the project delivered? What was the outcome?

The result was amazing. On the one hand the activity was so engaging that everyone didn’t stop till they had fulfilled the task, on the other hand they had the chance to review the past.

Do you have any other ideas you’re planning?

At the moment I am planning some back to school activities such as showing students of the first year a sort of album with all their new teachers or a collection of rules they need to respect. Moreover I will plan other escape rooms, even scavenger hunts and everything that will help my students focus on learning English. I dream of becoming more and more creative.

What do you love about ThingLink?

ThingLink is unique! It’s funny to choose and add tags wherever you want. It’s very simple and engaging thanks to the immersive experiences it creates for any theme. It allows you to show your creativity and it’s never boring.

If I hadn’t become a teacher, I would have become a ballerina!
