In many organisations and education settings, customer service training still relies heavily on videos, slide decks, and other static materials. While these resources can provide useful information, they do not always create the active, memorable learning experiences needed to build real confidence and capability. In this session, Kate and Louise will explore how to move beyond passive content and create immersive customer service training that brings learning to life.

Together, they will show how existing materials can be transformed into more accessible and interactive learning experiences, while also demonstrating how easy it is to create new simulation-based and scenario-based training from scratch. The webinar will explore how these approaches can create powerful moments of insight, helping learners practise essential customer service and communication skills in realistic, engaging contexts. This is especially relevant at a time when employers are increasingly highlighting the need for stronger communication skills among young people.

Kate’s recent conversations with employers have also shown growing recognition that virtual experiences can offer a valuable alternative to traditional work placements for skills development. Many understand that young people can face a range of barriers when trying to access conventional job opportunities, while employers themselves are often overwhelmed by the volume of placement requests they receive, making it difficult to accommodate everyone fairly. In this context, immersive and interactive learning experiences can provide a more balanced, scalable, and supportive way to help young people develop workplace-ready customer service and communication skills.

Whether you are supporting staff training, student development, or workplace learning, this session will offer practical ideas for designing learning that feels more authentic, relevant, and impactful.
