Introducing Giorgio!

I am a natural sciences teacher at an Italian high school. I have been teaching for 26 years and, for the last ten years, I have also been involved in teacher training in innovative teaching. I have always been passionate about technology, and through its application to educational games, I have developed a teaching method that engages students more effectively.

Giorgio’s Chosen ThingLink Project

This digital history project explores new frontiers of immersive storytelling through the reconstruction of an “impossible dialogue” set in the Führerbunker during the final days of the Battle of Berlin.

The experience stems from a multidisciplinary experiment using a customized Gemini Gem to analyze the protagonists’ psychology and generate a dramatic script, which was then transformed into a multisensory experience. Using ElevenLabs’ text-to-speech technology, the dialogues were animated with realistic emotional nuances and synchronized in a video produced with Google Vids, integrating AI-generated images and historical footage.

The heart of the project is an interactive 3D environment created entirely with ThingLink’s generative AI capabilities, transforming the dialogue scene into an educational hub where users can explore hotspots containing military maps, biographical insights, and period videos.

The ultimate goal is to demonstrate how the integration of advanced technological tools can make the study of history a dynamic and participatory experience, providing new ways to interrogate the past without replacing the rigorous truth of the facts.

What inspired you to create this project?

I was interested in exploring the dictators’ final hours, with a “what if” perspective. The dramatic aspect and the characters’ psychology convey the importance of the historical moment. The narrative has a strong educational value and helps develop transversal skills.

How was this project experienced?

The students participated primarily in the first phase of the project, building the dialogue. The use of AI throughout the process revealed the potential of these text, image, and video generation tools.

What do you love about using ThingLink?

ThingLink offers extensive multimedia capabilities that allow you to bring together multiple sources and data on a given topic. The visual impact and immediacy of the tags create deep, immersive engagement.

Thank You Giorgio!
