In addition to Discovery Education resources, Ms. Jackson has her students engage with many other resources to master their math facts. Here, students work independently on math games using Starfall. From this station, these students moved to other independent math practice or the hands-on activities.
Other independent math activities for the students included the use of hundreds charts, counting beads, and the use of dominos to create sums of up to 20. Students used name tags to secure their personal learning spaces on the floor.
A first grade classroom isn't complete unless there's a class pet! Meet Honey, the classroom roaming, paper, pencil, and book munching rabbit in Ms. Jackson's classroom. Honey is part of the classroom family and provides some much needed stress relief for the students.
