You need paperclips, a ruler, a tower of some sort, a string, a clothes pin and some magnets. You suspend a paperclip from the tower on a piece of string. You bring the magnets close enough to attach the paperclip to it, then draw it back from the tower along the ruler. You chart the point when you have magnet / paperclip separation, and when the paperclip is no longer under the influence of the magnet. It's a great experiment to show that magnets don't have to be touching something to have an effect.
