Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun.Mercury is very hot during the day and very cold during the night.Mercury is one of the inner planets.
Venus is the second planet from the Sun.Venus is covered by thick clouds of gas.The clouds trapheat andmake the planet very hot.
Earth is the third planet from the Sun.It is the only planet known to support life.Earth's atmosphere keeps the planet from getting too hot or too cold.
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun.The surface of Mars has many craters,mountains,and volcanoes.Mars has the largest volcano ever discovered in the solar system.
There is a ring between the inner planets and the outer planet.The ring is made out of rocks,meteors,and ice chunks.The inner planets are; Mercury,Venus,Earth and Mars.The outer planets are;Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus,and Neptune.
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun.It is also the largest planet,all of the planets can fit inside Jupiter.The Great Red Spot of Jupiter is a large storm.
Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun.It has beautiful rings made of dust,rocks,and ice.There are 47 moons discovered so far.
Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun.Methane in its atmosphere gives Neptune its blue color.Winds on Neptune can blow at 1,450 km per hour!
Uranus is the third-largest planet.It is only 1/3 the size of Jupiter.About 64 Earths can fit in Uranus!
