DELEGATES are representatives of a political party. They are selected by the party to attend the convention and represent the views and wishes of the party.
A CONVENTION is basically a large meeting of members of a political party. This is the 2012 National Republican Convention which was held to nominate the Republican's presidential candidate: Mitt Romney.
