Enjoy!

Introducing Giulia!

I’m Giulia Morlacchi: a versatile digital content creator, Coach Maker, researcher, and educator specializing in the practical application of digital technologies. My experience spans from Generative Artificial Intelligence to the Metaverse, from Extended Reality to holograms, from 3D modeling to educational robotics.

I’m also a passionate teacher educator and certified Master Trainer, and I enthusiastically work in schools to introduce students to the nuances of technological language.

A talented director and singer-songwriter, I write, direct, and produce internationally award-winning animated short films, using a variety of techniques, and compose and perform original soundtracks. I’ve recently integrated Artificial Intelligence and Vibe Coding into my creative processes, leveraging their generative potential to create images, animations, soundscapes, and advanced special effects to engage students in fantastical learning adventures.

Giulia’s inspiring ThingLink project!

About this project

This project stems from the desire to connect the industrial past of Corbetta (a small town in the Milanese hinterland) with the potential of the digital future, through a collaboration with a digital technology club composed exclusively of girls.

The choice of this all-female team fulfills the goal of offering an innovative and fresh perspective on a historical reality, breaking down gender stereotypes in STEM fields and applying cutting-edge technological skills to the preservation of memory. The participation of the girls from the technology club has been the driving force behind the transformation of the Wood Museum from a physical reality to a dynamic and interactive archive.

What inspired you to develop this collaboration?

The underlying motivations behind the creation of this virtual tour are based on three fundamental pillars:

1. Preserving Historical Memory The Wood Museum is not just a collection of objects, but the beating heart of a story that began in the 19th century and brought fame and prestige to Corbetta. Through the virtual tour, we want to preserve the historical memory of the area and keep alive the connection with the roots of our community.

2. The Transition from the Material to the Immaterial Our virtual tour transforms wood and metal into bits and information, making the artisanal expertise of the past a digital experience accessible to anyone, anywhere.

3. Promoting Local Excellence We want to highlight how local know-how has reached peaks of international excellence, with prestigious collaborations.

The commitment of the girls from the technology club has made it possible to transform a physical museum into a dynamic archive, engaging young people in a valuable journey of knowledge through digital language.

How was the project delivered and experienced?

The 360° virtual tour of the Corbetta Wood Museum, created using the ThingLink platform, was an effective experience in educational innovation and the valorization of the local cultural heritage.

The initiative overcame the physical barriers of the exhibition space, transforming it into an intangible, inclusive, and always-accessible space. The museum is now accessible from any device and is fully accessible to people with limited mobility or logistical limitations, overcoming time and public opening restrictions. Thanks to Immersive Multimedia navigation and the use of interactive hotspots integrated into ThingLink, users can explore the spaces in 360 degrees and instantly access in-depth content.

The virtual tour has safeguarded and enhanced Corbetta’s artisanal and historical identity, creating a permanent digital archive documenting the local culture. At school, the virtual museum can be used to support the study of local history and crafts and as a versatile tool for remote guided tours, particularly useful for preparing students before an in-person visit or for consolidating classroom learning. The project was presented to the authorities and the local community at a major launch event.

Do you have any other projects in the pipeline!?

I’ve created many projects with my students that I’d love to share with the community. I’ll continue studying and using ThingLink in my work as a Coach Maker at school because the kids love it, just like I do!

What do you love about ThingLink?

In short, ThingLink is a formidable tool with immense potential. It demonstrates how technology, when combined with creativity and passion, can generate extraordinary impact and invaluable educational value.

Connect with Giulia and Fun Fact!

“When, at 14, my peers asked their parents for their first scooter, I asked for a Commodore 64.
