Register to Receive the Replay!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the ISTE ASCD Authors!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Karalee Wong Nakatsuka<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gilder Lehrman 2019 California History Teacher of the Year, has taught middle school US History students since 1990. She is passionate about using technology to engage students, building community in her classroom, and helping students see themselves in the story of America as they develop into empathetic and informed critical thinkers and citizens who make a difference in the world. She presents at conferences, webinars, spoken on podcasts, and was honored to be featured in Time Magazine and The New York Times. She is the co-author of Bring History and Civics to Life: Lessons and Strategies to Cultivate Informed, Empathetic Citizens, published by ISTE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Michele Haiken, Ed.D.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Michele is a veteran educator with more than 25 years of teaching experience. She currently teaches middle school English in New York and serves as an adjunct professor in the education department at Manhattanville College. Michele is the author of <em>Personalized Reading, Second Edition<\/em> (co-published with NCTE and ISTE, 2024), co-author of <em>Creative SEL<\/em> with Mark Gura (ISTE, 2023), and author of <em>New Realms for Writing<\/em> (ISTE, 2019). She also edited <em>Gamify Literacy<\/em> (ISTE, 2017). An active voice in the education community, Michele has presented at national conferences, led webinars, contributed guest blog posts, and appeared on educational podcasts, sharing her expertise on literacy, gaming, and educational technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cathy Collins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cathy Collins, Library Media Specialist at Sharon Schools, MA, blends a journalist\u2019s eye with an educator\u2019s heart. Once a reporter on education, business and the arts, she now equips students to analyze, verify, and create ina world where technology intersects with human judgment in shaping what we read and create.
