I\u2019m Lisa and I bounce enthusiastically across a range of different roles and projects that involve a combination of inclusive facilitation, teaching, learning and other support, researching, writing, making digital stuff, project management\/leadership and, sometimes, videography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I work with organisations ranging from multinational companies to small charitable sector organisations, have a PhD in Digital Writing by Practice, have written\/edited books, run websites, worked as an arts journalist and have a background in comms, mostly in the arts, higher education, health and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lisa&#8217;s ThingLink Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of an assessment for my Applied Creative Practice module, I supervised a team of four fantastic 2nd year Undergraduate students on the Digital Media and Communications BA produced a bilingual (English\/Chinese), interactive map of Coalbrookdale, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"480\" data-original-width=\"2000\" data-original-height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thinglink.com\/view\/scene\/1988561725095412580\" type=\"text\/html\" style=\"border: none;\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><script async src=\"\/\/cdn.thinglink.me\/jse\/responsive.js\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What inspired you to create this project?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>May 2022: A colleague &amp; I presented our research at the Forum for Global Challenges I accidentally globally challenged the Chief Exec &amp; Secretary General of UK UNESCO&#8217;s concept of story <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f discussions re student-focused partnership <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f introduction to Ironbridge WHS co-ordinator <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f I showed her ThingLink <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f she thought it was magic <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f idea for interactive map project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How was this project facilitated with students?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ironbridge project was a creative practice assignment for students. It was subsequently picked by the University as an exemplary case study for using ThingLink with students, and I was asked to present on it to colleagues at a recent Digital Education Exchange Day. I\u2019m in the early stages of wondering whether \u2013 by using either actors or created avatars (I have ethical concerns) made from portraits \u2013 I could reinvent this project in a more immersive way, so readers (who wouldn\u2019t be readers any more, but participants) could kinda step into a costume drama\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What do you love about ThingLink?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>User-friendliness, versatility, the fact that when you show people what ThingLink can do they think it\u2019s magic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lisa&#8217;s Fun Facts!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In my spare time I\u2019m herded by cats, feed crows and love live music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aged 17 I got into trouble at school when a famous comedian came to film a programme about women\u2019s humour, and I told an unrepeatable dirty joke during filming. Apparently the cameraman missed it, so I narrowly avoided bringing my (very academic) girls\u2019 school into disrepute.
