Mouth: where food enters the body
Epiglottis: flap of connected tissue that closes over the opening to the trachea
Esophagus: tube connecting the mouth to the stomach
Liver: produces bile loaded with lipids and salts
Stomach: large muscular sack that continues the mechanical and chemical digestion of food
Gallbladder: bile is stored here
Pancreas: produces hormones that regulates blood sugar levels and also produces enzymes that break down food
Small intestine: most chemical digestion and absorption of food takes place here
Large intestine: removes water from the undigested material that passes through it
